Encouraging Words

I borrowed these encouraging words from a dear friend.

We are gonna make it THROUGH somehow and someway! And I KNOW that God has got a plan for you and your life...never forget that! God is going to take your MESS and turn it into a MESSAGE and take your TEST and turn it into a TESTIMONY! God is allowing you to go through some of the things that you are going through to prepare you so He can use you to help others going through similar situations! "Weeping may endure for a night...BUT Joy cometh in the morning"!

4TH Man Walking

I'm sorry Christie is a lone, but she really isn't.God loves her more than I do and he is there for her.He knows his children and they know there Father God, God is her Heavenly Father and he is with her just as he was with the Hebrew children in the fiery furnace and the 4Th Man walked out with them.Just as he will with Christie .
I can't wait for the home coming. Xander talks everyday about his Sissy and the things he wants to do with her. Xander got 4 horses unpainted for Christmas. He opened them and said oh no these are sissy's she loves horses. We got him to understand they where his, so he painted them all and had a wonderful time. Now I've been told they are still Sissy's horses and Xander plans on giving them to her when she gets home. I can not wait until my family is made whole again and I can get the Children that love each other back together where they belong.

Wondering

I can't help but wonder what kind of day Christie had. I missed her so much today as we gathered with family and friends to celebrate Christmas. I wonder if she noticed she was alone today as the other family members joined their children today for Christmas. I wonder does she think she has been forgotten. We went and saw her the beginning of this week to celebrate Christmas with her but even then she said " it's not Christmas." Richard will be seeing her in January for Christmas but even then she will be the only one. I hate what she is having to endure I can't wait for her to be HOME to be with family and never have to be alone again, or to have to celebrate a holiday early or late.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Christie. I sure miss you.

Visit with Christie, Update and court

Hello Everyone,
This I am sure will be lengthly since I haven't updated in a while. I went to see Christie for Christmas and she is doing well. Christie is now drinking liquids ( still thickened) from a cup or straw instead of from a spoon.
Christie has a computer from school that has a program on it that allows her to type then the computer speaks for her. This allows Christie to communicate more because she can give more details on what she is trying to say. At this point it is believed that Christie's speech will not improve much more because of the amount of brain removed and the functions that the left temporal lobe did.
In physical therapy Christie is standing in the framed walker for 45 minutes to an hour at a time.
Court has been moved from January 13 and 14 to January 11 and 12. Also a special hearing has been set for January 7 by Richard's attorney.

Amazing who God leads us to.

It is amazing who God leads us to. I was talking to a gentleman tonight who has a child with a similar problem as Christie. It was very nice talking to him. I wish him and his family well and ask that when you pray for Christie you remember this child to.

Just Stay

NOT MY USUAL POST BUT TOUCHING

"Just Stay"

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

"Your son is here," she said to the old man.

She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marinesat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile.

He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse.
While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

"Who was that man?" he asked.

The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.

"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"

"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here.

When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."

I came here tonight to find a Mr. William Grey.
His Son was Killed in Iraq today, and I was sent to inform him. What was this Gentleman's Name?

The Nurse with Tears in Her Eyes Answered,
Mr. William Grey.............

The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

Christie's job

I was talking to Christie on the phone and she asked me what I was doing. I told her I was helping Xander with his homework, Christie said that was her job.So I guess when Christie gets home she will be helping her little brother with his homework.
I was going to hang up and Christie asked me why I had to go that she was lonely. I told her I didn't have to hang up we could talk as long as she wanted so we continued to talk for sometime.
Christie asked me if Joybear was with me. I told her no that Joybear was with her Dad. Joybear is Christie's bear and best friend that she has had her whole life. The nursing home has decided to follow a policy of no stuffed animals due to dust and children on the floor with tracs. I asked them why they are enforcing the rule now when they haven't in the two years that Christie has been there. They said they didn't know. Every time I talk to Christie she asked me where Joybear is.I just don't understand the thinking of some people.

About Christie

I am Becky, Christie's Mom and I want to tell you about Christie. Christie is a beautiful, outgoing, and caring person. She loves outside, turtles, frogs, birds all kinds of animals especially horses. Christie has talked about maybe becoming a vet. Christie was injured in a car wreck on April 19,2008. Christie has a severe globial brain injury where they had to remove the whole left tempral lobe. This blog is to share Christie's story. She is a fighter, and she is making a recovery that no one thought she would.

MOTHERS

This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece. Please Read this at a slow pace, digesting every word and in Leisure...do not hurry... This is a treasure...
>For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom,This is beautiful. For those of us who aren't, this is Even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.
>The young mother set her foot on the path of life. 'Is This the long way?' she asked. And the guide said:'Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it... But The end will be better than the beginning.'
But the young mother was happy, and she would not Believe that anything could be better than these years. So she Played with her children, and gathered flowers for Them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and The sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,'Nothing will ever be lovelier than this.'
>Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was Dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother Drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said, 'Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come.'
>And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and The children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children,' A little patience and we are there.'So the children climbed, and when they reached the top They said, 'Mother, we would not have done it without you.'
>And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up At the stars and said, 'This is a better day than the last, for my Children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I've given them strength.'
>And the next day came strange clouds which darkened The earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped And stumbled, and the mother said: 'Look up. Lift your eyes to the light. ' And the children looked and saw above the clouds An everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the Darkness. And that night the Mother said, 'This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God.'
>And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and The years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with Courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, For she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,And beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And Mother said, 'I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end Is better than the beginning, for my children can Walk alone, and their children after them.'
>And the children said, 'You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.'And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates Closed after her. And they said: 'We cannot see her But she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She Is a living presence.......'
>Your Mother is always with you... She's the whisper Of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach In your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand On your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives Inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love And your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can Separate you.Not time, not space... Not even death!
>I LOVE YOU MY BABY GIRL
