Amazing

It's amazing to look back and see the progress that has been made toward bringing Christie home. Her room has been totally transformed. The ramp is finished, the rails on the porch are done. It's truly amazing and such love went into the work of it.
Tammy and Roger, Benny and Linda Grant and the men from Benny's church worked so hard and so faithful to get this finished in time for us to be able to bring her home sooner. And of course my daddy helped, even at the risk of his own health. That is love in any language.
Larry and Derrick installed the rail and had to completely redo the ceiling to be able to get that done. They widened one doorway to make it wheelchair accessible and installed the new sink and pedestal.
Horace not only got the doors and sheet rock mud donated, he did the work to widen the doors.
My daddy is up here now painting her room so Tammy can come in and paint the murals on the wall for her.
For all of you who have donated money and prayers we are so grateful. Sharon and David Hayden, Sharon and her husband, Alana and Norm, Lynne and Jay, Gale, Ann Jones, Geneva, Uncle Lee and Amber. There are so many I cannot possibly remember them all but God remembers and will reward.
Thanks to my aunt Linda who has been here every step of the way, and who has done more than money can ever repay.
Thanks to Geneva, there is going to be a special place in Heaven for her. She came all the way from Greenwood to help with the hot dog sales, yard sales and brought truck loads of donations with her.
Thank you to the ones who are working behind the scenes that can't be mentioned by name on this web site God and you know who you are. Thanks to all of you WE WILL BRING CHRISTIE HOME.
When Christie gets home, please feel free to come to visit her anytime, and we will have a party that beats all parties to celebrate her homecoming. Two years ago April 19, we were planning a home going because the Dr's didn't think she would live. April 19,of this year we are planning a homecoming party, because God knew she was going to live. Thank you to all of you.
And May God bless each and everyone.

The Progress We've made

It was two years today that the terrible crash that changed Christie forever happened. Christie has made tremendous progress. She is talking, eating, writing and reading all of which the doctors wasn't sure she would do. The feeding tube is not being used and will be removed the 29Th of this month.Christie will continue to improve once she gets home. I can't wait to make that trip to Florida and tell her " We are going home"

Almost done

Hi Everyone,
It has been a very busy few weeks. Christie's room is almost finished. The rail, lift system has been installed in her room as well as her bed. The wall has been modified with a door to give her private entrance to the bathroom. The ramp is being built and should be finished in a few days. Her ceiling will be stuccoed Saturday and the doors will be widened Saturday. Then Christie's room will be painted with horses on the walls. My house has been inspected and after the ramp and doors are finished will be approved. . It is ADA compliant and safe for Christie. We are just waiting on paperwork and a court date and hopefully Christie will be home soon. We have spent a lot and still owe for materials if anyone would like to help it will be greatly appreciated.

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
But how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
To do anything but sing and smile to be happy.."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
When people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
You will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
Teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
You how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
You the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
Could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
Now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, " Mom ."

Lift a mother's spirit; send this to every mother you know (no matter how old her child is).

MOTHERS

This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece. Please Read this at a slow pace, digesting every word and in Leisure...do not hurry... This is a treasure...
>For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom,This is beautiful. For those of us who aren't, this is Even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.
>The young mother set her foot on the path of life. 'Is This the long way?' she asked. And the guide said:'Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it... But The end will be better than the beginning.'
But the young mother was happy, and she would not Believe that anything could be better than these years. So she Played with her children, and gathered flowers for Them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and The sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,'Nothing will ever be lovelier than this.'
>Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was Dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother Drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said, 'Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come.'
>And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and The children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children,' A little patience and we are there.'So the children climbed, and when they reached the top They said, 'Mother, we would not have done it without you.'
>And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up At the stars and said, 'This is a better day than the last, for my Children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I've given them strength.'
>And the next day came strange clouds which darkened The earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped And stumbled, and the mother said: 'Look up. Lift your eyes to the light. ' And the children looked and saw above the clouds An everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the Darkness. And that night the Mother said, 'This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God.'
>And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and The years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with Courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, For she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,And beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And Mother said, 'I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end Is better than the beginning, for my children can Walk alone, and their children after them.'
>And the children said, 'You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.'And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates Closed after her. And they said: 'We cannot see her But she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She Is a living presence.......'
>Your Mother is always with you... She's the whisper Of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach In your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand On your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives Inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love And your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can Separate you.Not time, not space... Not even death!
>I LOVE YOU MY BABY GIRL
