Call before you visit

Katrina a family friend who has been visiting Christie since she was at FINR went to visit today and was asked to leave. Richard has made a list of who could visit and who can't. Katrina asked if she was on the list, they said no that Richard had specifically said Katrina couldn't visit. I wonder why. Katrina is a neuropsychologist as well as a friend who lives in Miami and was visiting weekly. When Katrina was there she would send me pictures and visit with Christie so she wasn't so lonely.Katrina would take her children to interact with Christie they would play ball and talk with Christie with the letter board. It concerns me because Christie has so few visitors and now she is limited more. Katrina and her children were such a positive influence in her recovery.

I don't know who's doing it, but Richard is the guardian so he has the final say. It's not just Katrina that can't visit but Paula and Aaron is not on the list either. It's intresting that these 3 people where the main people visiting Christie other than Richard and his family. Richard said Katrina couldn't visit because she identified herself as a doctor and cousin, but I don't know why Paula and Aaron isn't on the list to visit, Aaron was one of her closest friends from school. When Christie was at FINR they visited every week.Just keep praying.; December 5, 2008 at 10:21 PM

Are you guys on the list to visit or has he cut that out too. David's family is north of Miami and we had thought that maybe if we get down to see them, maybe we could go down and see Christie. Guess we have to get Richard's permission. Hang in there and don't lose faith in God because He is still on the throne and is able. Love ya.

Anonymous said...: Katrina was asked not to come back because she is a student not a doctor. She told the staff that she was a doctor and a cousin of Christie both of which are untrue. Therefore, the administrator and Richard made the decision. That is why Becky. This is getting old. Please stop.

First of all, if you don't like what is written here then stop reading it! I know that you think that we should all do what you say, but that is not true. Here is something that you can relate to: the law that you have repeatedly thrown up in our faces. We have the right to "free speech" as guaranteed by the Constitution. This site was created to keep people informed of Christie's condition, but Richard has done everything in his power to cut Becky out of the loop. Richard is the cause of this accident, and the cause of further harm to both Christie and Becky, so stop acting so blameless. You were the ones who said that you would not take care of Christie, and that she was "our responsibility". We all know that your families' words will not return void as Richard will do everything he can to keep Christie in a nursing home for the rest of her life. Also, stop acting like you are even remotely thinking of the wellfare of Christie, because you were the one telling me to "prepare Becky to pull the plug because Christie won't survive". Remember this conversation outside of Christie's school? Christie did in fact prove all of you wrong. If you have any problem with anything I have said here, feel free to call me and I will be more than happy to tell you what I have said on the phone if it will help you understand.

This is her life line. Thank all of you for investing your time to read and post comments to it. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Please continue to pray that Christie will come home and not be forced to stay in a nursing home for the rest of her life.

Katrina is the holder of a PhD. This makes her a doctor! Hello?! If you have a PhD in law, you are a doctor of law. A PhD is a DOCTORATE degree. If you have a PhD in medicine, you are a doctor of medicine. A PhD is a DOCTORATE degree. Do we see a pattern? Before you start defending Richard's wrong decision, you might want to get your facts straight.

A beautiful little teenage girl
lying in a hospital bed.
Only fifteen years into her life.
It's a MIRACLE she's not dead.
She was so vibrant, like a ray of sun.
But now she's in a coma
before her life has even begun.
She loves horses and feeding birds.
Rescuing turtles,
and jumping hurdles.
She loves to laugh and really loves to run.
Christie is so full of life
and her life is filled with fun.
Now we're praying for a Miracle
that only God can do.
For now her laughter is silenced
and God we're begging you.
The part of her brain that they removed,
we ask you to replace.
Let Christie run once again
and help her win life's race.
You made the brain in question
before the dawn of time.
And I ask you now with all my heart
to heal this grandchild of mine.

A TRUE MIRACLE

After Christie's Left Temporal lobectomy we thought she would die. She remained in a coma for months. She remained on life support and a trach for a while longer. Everyone seemed to give up on her but God and me. The surgeons thought she would remain in a vegetative state for the remainder of her days. I'm very happy to say that everyone was wrong. As you can see in the pictures on this page Christie has surpassed everyones expectations. It wouldn't be right not to give God the Glory and Praise for things he hath done and if it where not but by God's Grace and Love Christie wouldn't be here today.If you do not know God as your personal savior I invite you to get to know him. He sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for you and for me. Please read John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave HIs only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The best thing that a person can do in these times is to accept Him. He has not let me down in my life, and He won't let you down either.
